Keeping our family and friends updated

Well, it's that time again. Christian checks into the hospital on Tuesday and surgery is scheduled for Wednesday morning. He is very excited about everyone coming to be with him and I think his family and friends are going to pack the hospital.

We got to go out to San Diego this past week to spend time with his Nino, Jesus, and Christian is feeling like a king. We had an amazing time with Jesus and his family and can't wait to go again. Christian loves flying now, it was his first ride on a plane and we got to fly on four. The captain on the last flight let him sit in the cockpit and wear the hat - it was pretty exciting.

Yesterday, he had his follow-up appointment with endocrinology  and as soon as the cardiologist gives the ok after he recovers from surgery, Christian will start his Super Man shots. Apparently when he had his last stem test a little over a year ago, it was just his IGF-1 that was low but his growth hormone passed (still lower than normal but passing). This time his growth hormone did nothing. His IGF-1 is still very low but he has reached a hault in growth so it is extremely important that he starts the hormone therapy now. They said he will always have the small stature because that is just part of the DiGeorge but without any therapy he won't get much taller than his barely 48 inches. He can't wait until he is tall enough to drive the go-carts by himself. I think we are shooting for about 5'3 or so. Now we got to figure out how to pack on some pounds or he is going to stretch out like laughy taffy. He was trying to mess with them yesterday and everytime they tried to measure him he would raise his heels up and add an inch.

That's about it for today. Please keep him in your prayers this next week.
